CMHC Care Program

The Christ Memorial Health Center (CMHC) Care Program is a Christ-centered wellness initiative designed to support adults in maintaining their physical, emotional, and social well-being. This program provides a welcoming and supportive environment where participants can engage in activities that promote strength, independence, and meaningful connections with others.

The CMHC Care Program is ideal for individuals transitioning from physical or occupational therapy, managing chronic conditions, or simply seeking a safe and encouraging space to maintain their overall wellness. Beyond exercise, the program fosters opportunities for socialization, community engagement, and personal growth.

Program Highlights
Wellness-Focused Activities: Participants work on improving strength, balance, flexibility, mobility, and cardiovascular endurance, all while building confidence and safety in their movements through the use of standard exercise equipment.
Social Connections: CMHC Care encourages participants to connect with others in a supportive, community atmosphere.
Community Engagement: CMHC Care fosters a sense of belonging by creating opportunities for participants to engage with others in meaningful ways, both within the program and the broader community and life of the church.
Ongoing Support: CMHC Care hours are supervised by trained staff who ensure that participants can safely follow exercise plans developed by physical or occupational therapists or based on physician recommendations.

    Goals
    1. Promote holistic wellness by addressing physical, emotional, and social health.
    2. Encourage lifelong movement and independence in a compassionate, Christ-centered environment.
    3. Build a community of support where participants feel valued, connected, and empowered.

    ABOUT US

Christ Memorial Lutheran Church moved into a former Target store in 2005 where we opened our Fitness Center for Christ Memorial congregation and the community. An initial Lutheran Foundation Grant got us started and additional grants from Lutheran Foundation, Thrivent Financial, Greater St. Louis Health Care Foundation, St. Anthony’s Charitable Foundation, and Wheatridge have allowed us to continue to offer this valuable service to the community.

Ongoing donations from the congregation and participants allow us to continue offering free access to our Fitness Center to the community at large.
